Fiber artist Sharon Epstein was trained at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and attended the Banff Centre of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada. Her artistic practice includes drawing, collage, screen-printing, digital printing, stitching and beading. Her practice focuses on the ritual and symbolism of Judaism and is supported by extensive research into Judaic liturgical textiles, illuminated manuscripts and Jewish culture. Influenced by her travels and exposure to various cultural traditions, her work explores the colors, richness and layering found in Indian Textiles and traditional paper cuts. Her printed and stitched textiles have been exhibited in Britain and North America and are included in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Skirball Museum in Los Angeles.
